Weaving and Spinning Showrooms

We have showrooms at our shop in East Berlin, Pennsylvania, where you can try weaving or spinning on our most popular looms and spinning wheels. For a glimpse of the equipment available for you to try, please see the Weaving and Spinning Showrooms topics for details.

Knit-In

Back by popular demand, the Knit-In will again be held at The Mannings. Please check the Events section under Workshops and Events for this years date. This is not a structured event, but rather a day of relaxing and knitting with good friends. All knitters are invited to attend. There is no fee. Cold drinks and cookies will be provided along with door prizes. Participants are asked to bring lunch for themselves, a chair and, of course, their knitting. If weather permits, knitters may sit outside under the trees on this spacious property. There is also plenty of room inside in case of inclement weather.

Construction Update

The addition is complete and open for business.

New Store Space

Now we begin the task of incorporating the existing office/store into the new addition, but first we must move the last of the stock from that building along with 60 years of "stuff". So we still aren't there yet, but we are moving along and the inside is looking pretty full already, with more shelving and stock to come.

The New Porch

My favorite part, however, is finished -- THE PORCH! With comfortable rockers, it's great place to sit and knit or just relax, spouses and children are finding it a comfortable spot to sit and wait.

Win a Day With Tom

Again this year we are helping raise money for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN). Every dollar we raise will be donated to CMN by Tom's daughter Olivia, who is a miracle child. Each year our drawing has several prizes thanks to some of our very supportive suppliers. And of course the big prize, as always, will be a day with Tom, our instructor extraordinaire. The Miracle dollars raised by CMN are targeted for patient care, education and medical research into the cause and treatment of childhood illnesses. We learned first-hand about this organization when on December 28, 1993, Olivia Frances Knisely was born. No one expected any problems but she was born with a deformed heart valve. She was rushed to Children's Hospital at the Hershey Medical Center and after several operations she is up and around like any very active teenager. There is still surgery to come as she gets older. But with the excellent doctors at Hershey and the ongoing research that CMN make possible, we know she will lead a long and healthy life. Help make this happy ending come true for others.
